Libersea was born off the back of an international collaboration between Caitlin Laing-McEvoy (Manchester, UK) and Ditte Elly Goard (Aarhus, Denmark).
With folk and classical underpinning electronic sounds, their debut EP 'Can You Hear Me?' is a vast and unpredictable sound world that explores the two-sided consequences of our technology-saturated lives.
Caitlin and Ditte were brought together in 2020 for a co-commission with Library Live, Manchester as part of our gender equality programme Both Sides Now.
In light of the COVID pandemic at the time, we tasked the two to create new music that explores what it means to be connected, disconnected and reconnected in today's world. The new work premiered at SOUP in 2021.
As part of the commission Ditte also created an accompanying graphic novel.
